Lashes

Lashes explores the structural possibilities of silicone sealant through a process of hand extrusion, custom rigs and controlled curing. The slender strands extend between 13–17 cm from their base, appearing to stand upright without support. Despite their improbable verticality, they remain flexible, bending under pressure before springing back into position. Combined with optical lenses, the forms evoke eyelashes and the eye, bringing an element of the surreal and comic to the material’s unexpected behaviour.
