After (Party)

After (Party) references the tradition of still life, using glasses and bottles loosely positioned as though left behind after a social gathering. Hand-extruded silicone snakes between them in wandering, drawing-like lines, suggesting the giddy movements of a party. The lines gather into 'coasters', into which the objects are pressed, leaving impressions as the material cures.

The resulting sculpture records the presence of objects subsequently removed. Conceived as a possible memento of a shared occasion, the work can be presented with the original glasses and bottles, or with only their traces remaining.
