Conservation, stone-grade silicone, cured part-attached, low iron glass, hardwood columns, mirror, ply, 2022

41cm w x 37cm d x 17cm h

Artwork selected for installation within Wells Cathedral for Wells Art Contemporary 2022. Located in the South Quire Aisle, adjacent to a tomb flanked by angels.

The work makes reference to the columns and latticework of the eary english gothic architecture in addition to the wings and folds of the drapes on the tomb.

Two alternately facing wing-forms hover on columns of their own, whilst a mirror beneath reveals the evidence of former contact with a surface that the works now levitate free of, whilst simultaneously encompassing the soaring arches in the ceiling above.

Wells Art Contepemporary runs 30 July - 28 Aug '22.
